Remembering JoAnn

JoAnn McGovern passed away peacefully on December 29, 2011 after a 14-month battle with pancreatic cancer. JoAnn was married to husband Tom for nearly 44 years and was a loving mother to three boys; Jon, Brett and Casey. She doted on her grandchildren and had a special bond with each of them. In addition to being an avid supporter of her sons’ athletic activities, she loved to travel and gathered many friends with her warmth and loving personality.

Her story is like that of so many stricken with pancreatic cancer. A life ended early which left a permanent void for those who so loved her. The JoAnn McGovern Memorial Golf Tournament benefits the McGovern Family Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Foundation and is not only in memory of JoAnn, but in memory of all who have died from cancer.
